Robert James Waller : The Bridges of Madison County

By Małgorzata Mikos - 7.1.18

"The Bridges of Madison County" is a story of Robert Kincaid, the photographer and free spirit, and Francesca Johnson, a bored housewife. And about four magical days together.
Robert Kincaid arrived to Madison because of the covered bridges of Madison County. In a flash Francesca is becoming his guide, helper and then - a lover.
Four days of a different life, four days of falling madly, deeply, irrevocably in love. Only four days to see the better side of life and love. She could run with him, with the man who saw in her somebody more than only a wife and mother. She could be somebody else, but she didn't do it. Because of age, because of children, because of husband.
This love, these four days - everything was supposed to become a secret. But after many years their secret was discovered...

"The Bridges of Madison County", the story of magic, emotions, memories, freedom, love. The story of faith, sacrifices and secrets.

                                                           Why you should read it

Because this is a bit a love story and the story about sacrifices. About important and more important things. About choices before which sometimes both we must stand up and decide about the next day of our life.

                                                         Things to look out for

The love, true love, can find you when you don't expect it. The fact that everything is possible. You just have to believe in it.

The last word about the book

"The Bridges of Madison County" isn't a long novel. If you like "speed-reading" - this book is for you. And remember - this book isn't the same story as the movie so you can be surprised a bit.
